Have you sent a “Back to School” note to your grandchildren?

By grandparenting 12 years ago1 Comment

I have been sending my grandchildren back to school notes, telling them that grandpa, and I will be praying for them as they start a new school year for several years. I would like to encourage you to do the same if you haven’t before. It’s a good time to communicate to them of your love and prayers, especially if you are a long distance . They may be facing new or uncomfortable situations as they attend new schools, have new teachers, and make new friends. A note of encouragement from their grandparents may give them the confidence they need as they go back to school. It is also a good time to inform them know that you will be intentionally praying for them on Grandparents Day of Prayer on September 9. Texting or ecards are also good options. Back to School ecards are available at www.dayspring.com or www.encouoragementcards.com.

 Grandma Sets her Alarm

I heard of a grandmother inTexaswho sets the alarm on her cell phone each day at the time each of her grandchildren are going to school to remind her to pray for them.

 Prayer

Dear Lord, I pray my grandchildren will:

  • Desire to do their very best.
  • Respect their teachers.
  • Choose friends, who will have a positive influence.
  • Recognize the deception of worldly thinking.
  • Have eyes blinded to the temptations they face.
  • Have a balanced view of their beauty, charm, and strength.
  • Learn to be responsible for their actions and behavior.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

PS:   For several months, I have sent a copy of “31 Scriptures to Pray for your Grandchildren” to new subscribers. Please subscribe before the offer expires. If these blogs have helped you to pray more intentionally for your grandchildren share them with your friends, on Facebook, and/or Twitter.
