A Great Valentine’s Idea with Purpose

By grandparenting 4 years ago8 Comments

I recently heard of an excellent idea for grandparents to use for Valentines for their grandchildren that I would like to share with you.

For example, send them a Valentine with two five-dollar bills (or whatever amount you desire.) One five-dollar bill is your love gifts to them the other five-dollar bill is for them to show love forward to someone in need. This will gives you an opportunity to discuss different options of how they can show love to others. Then ask them to report to you how they showed their love forward.

“Dear Friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” I John 4:11.

Great idea. Had been thinking about what to “mail” the grandkids for Valentine’s Day since I will out of town during that time. Have already bought their cards…now I know what to put in them. Thank you!

Lillian, I liked this idea so much, I forwarded it to all my grandparent/friends who have an eternal perspective regarding their grandchildren. I went to the bank today and picked up my $ 5 bills and will write out their cards shortly. Thank you , julie w

My daughter gave each of her fourth grade students $5 at Christmas and gave them instructions to use it to bless someone. It was amazing to hear about all that they did with their $5. I did not think about doing it as a Valentine for my grandchildren, but thanks to you I will.
    I always enjoy your newsletter.
