Thank you very much for these guidelines in praying for our elementary-school aged grandchildren. Two of mine are in a school that leans heavily on the Common Core ideology. Every day at school the children rehearse together out loud the Coomon Core Values, and several times in normal conversation the children brought them up, and I felt the need to tell them that these Common Core values sounded very good to the ear, but what did those words mean? I told them not to accept a creed without knowing what the words in the creed meant to those that created them. And I told them if the values did not agree with God’s Word, then they should consider not repeating the creed until they were able to know why God’s Word was different than the Common Core Values Creed. I then spoke to their parents and asked them to talk to the children about it. Children today will have more and more challenges to their.minds. Hitler had children put into “clubs” in order to brainwash them with Nazi ideology, and I see the schools beginning to do the same thing, only the parents are not notified unless their children mention it in passing, such as classes being made to repeat the Islamic creed, the first pillar of the Islamic faith, and then teaching and leading them in Islamic prayers.
Sorry for the length of this e-mail. I’m sure you can tell I am very concerned for our young people, and I am grateful for your help. Thank you so much..
    Sincerely, in Christ, C. Owen

  • Connie,

Thanks for your comment. I think that you are right one with your thoughts. It is urgent that we, as grandparents pray intentionally for our dear grandchildren. The enemy is desperately trying to distract and steal our children and grandchildren so we need to to cover them in prayer physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just as Esther stood in the gap for her people when they were threatened physically.

    Blessings,
    Lillian Penner
