The apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:12 (NIV)  “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”

One definition of contentment is  “a state of happiness and satisfaction”.  Wikipedia writes: Contentment is a mental or emotional state of satisfaction that may be drawn from being at ease in one’s situation, body, and mind.  Contentment is an attitude.

Pray your grandchildren will have an attitude of contentment not complaining about everything, especially when things don’t go their desired way. Try to help them to be grateful and satisfied with things as they are. But there are also times we need to encourage them to improve the situation when needed.
