Do you see the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of your Grandchildren?

By grandparenting 5 years agoNo Comments

Today, grandparents are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our grandchildren. However, the battle isn’t ours, it is the Lords. The way to walk through this battle is to grip the hand of Jesus tightly and stay in close communication with him. It is only as we release our concerns for our grandchildren to Him that we are free to cling to His hand. We cannot cling to his hand unless our hands are empty. Intentionally praying for our grandchildren for physical, emotional, and spiritual protection from the enemy everyday.

We are living in a fallen fragmented world where things are continually unraveling around the edges. Only a vital relationship with God can keep us from unraveling.

A grandfather who is raising his teen grandson just sent me an email telling me about the dire issues that are condoned in the school. Teachers, administration, school board, and supertendent turn their backs on these issues that allow Satan into our schools and ultimately into the minds of our dear children. I feel doing nothing is not an option! I have been told from the principle, “this is a battle, and you will not win”. I continue to write letters, however I receive no replies. So all I can do is keep praying.

As grandparents let’s not let the enemy dull our desires to intentionally pray for our grandchildren and their parents. Prayer is our most strategic weapon. The enemy wants to disintegrate and divide our families, rendering them chaotic, restless, and unfruitful.I believe it’s our place to get on our knees, humble ourselves, seek God’s face, repent of our sin, and intercede for our nations, our children and grandchildren. Thenhaving done all, we stand firm in our faiththat God has heard and will answer our prayers in his timing and according to His will.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged . . . . For the battle is not yours but Gods.” II Chronicles 20:15
