What are you doing with your old photos?

By grandparenting 5 years ago2 Comments

Why not dig into the boxes and envelopes that hold your treasured, forgotten photos of your children and grandchildren and then send the forgotten picture to them on their birthday or special occasions. Write a note of the approximate time and place of the picture with your memory of the event. Let them know how proud you are of them at this time in their lives. It is also an excellent time to communicate with them that you are praying for them and God has great plans for them as they grow up to be godly men and women.

One of my favorite verses to send my grandchildren is “No eye hath seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” I Corinthians 2:9 NIV).

Here is an example: When my grandson celebrated his 20th birthday I sent him a picture taken on his 14th birthday, included a Bible verse, and wrote that we loved him and prayed for him. I also wrote a memory of how excited he was with his gifts, cake, etc. It brought a smile to his face; we listened to his laughter and made good use of the treasured, forgotten photo.

You might also want to give old photos for unique family occasion gifts, Christmas, birthday, or anniversary to family members or friends.Make use of those old photos, have fun, and brighten someone’s day.

I just stumbled across this site and was absolutely thrilled to read the contents. Only this past week in prayer I felt the Holy Spirit speak to me about ‘being purposeful’ in my prayers and actions with my Grandchildren!
