How to Release your Loved Ones to Jesus

Recently I read in Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, “Entrust your loved ones to me; release them into My protective care. They are much safer with Me than in your clinging hands. If you let a loved one become an idol in your heart, you endanger that one—as well as yourself. When you release your loved ones to Me, you are free to cling to My hand.” It is hard to cling to God’s hand when our hands and hearts are full of concerns and worries for our grandchildren and their parents. I have found that if I let go of my concerns and worries asking the Holy Spirit to intercede for me in their behalf according to Romans 8:26,27 I don’t carry the heavy load and He gives me peace.

Our grandchildren hear many voices from our culture telling them who they are, what they can do and what they are to believe, where they call wrong right and right wrong. Just as social media Instagram has filters to focus the pictures; we need filters in our lives to recognize the evil and deception in our world today. God gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments to filter their lives when they were surrounded by the cultures of the people living around them. We have the Word of God to filter our lives in the culture that surrounds us today, so we as grandparents, need know God’s Word to leave an example of a godly legacy.

Let’s pray our grandchildren will grow into the knowledge of God’s Word so they can use it for their filter to recognize the evil and deception in our secular society.
